Navigating the globe was a risky endeavour for the great explorers of the 15th century. They relied on the stars to help them determine their position and map their course across distant oceans.
Today, we have different tools and methods at our disposal to meet the special challenges of our modern world. We nevertheless have something in common with all of history’s great explorers, and that is an untiring spirit of discovery making us always ready to reach out for new goals.
It was under this motto that, on 31 August 2006 , over 130 guests followed our invitation to the Avaloq Expedition at the Giardino Verde in Uitikon near Zurich. Under the guidance of Bertrand Piccard they undertook a journey into another world, enjoyed many culinary delights and spent an evening surrounded by an aura of adventure.
