A bit about the role

Your team

Avaloq Compliance safeguards Avaloq from compliance risks by advising our colleagues how to maintain the highest compliance and ethical standards when conducting business.

The Compliance function is part of the 2nd line of Defense of the Avaloq Group of Companies and integrated in the Legal, Compliance, Risk and Assurance (LCRA) function of the Group, reporting to the General Counsel/Global Executive Board (GEB) and Audit Compliance and Risk Committee (ACRC).

You will be joining Avaloq’s Global Compliance team with colleagues based in Switzerland, Singapore, the Philippines and Germany. At the same time, you will be part of the local German LCRA function, with a special focus on Europe and the BPaaS centerd located in Germany.

Your key tasks:

As Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for all compliance aspects in the business model of Avaloq both working in close collaboration with your global Compliance colleagues and regional and local functions, business heads and operation team members as well as independently as a specialist.

  • Tracking, maintaining, documenting, and reporting compliance obligations from regulators and contractual obligations from clients on an ongoing basis.
  • Coordinating and implementing Avaloq’s global compliance policies and initiatives in its German and European operations and serving as first compliance contact to local colleagues.
  • Assisting the Chief Compliance Officer in defining and maintaining global and local policies and processes.
  • Providing onboarding and ad-hoc compliance trainings to New Joiners and Avaloq Employees.
  • Executing key compliance controls to ensure conformity with compliance policies and processes.
  • Representing compliance in diverse projects, important meetings and committees and providing inputs from a compliance perspective.
  • Maintaining regulatory and contractual obligations from clients.
  • Co-ordinating and assisting in internal and third-party audits, reviews, and other ad-hoc tasks

A bit about you

  • Relevant work experience (min. 3 years) in financial sector or other kind of regulated or process-driven company
  • Profound knowledge of Compliance obligations in the Financial sector in Germany and Europe
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Business fluency in English and German language
  • High level of professional integrity, as well as the skills to handle confidential matters and show an appropriate level of judgment and maturity
  • University degree (preferably in law or economics) or equivalent
