Java Backend Developer (Junior, Senior, Tech Lead)

About the Role
We are looking for high-performing Java Backend Developers with strong expertise in banking and an interest in digital assets and blockchain. Our team is responsible for the implementation of Avaloq’s digital assets solution, building next-generation applications that drive innovation in the financial industry.
We are hiring for multiple seniority levels (Junior, Senior, Tech Lead) to join our team and contribute to shaping the future of banking technology.

Key Responsibilities (depending on seniority)
- Develop and implement scalable and secure backend services for banking and digital assets.
- Contribute to high-performance architecture and establish software design patterns.
- Drive best coding practices and maintain high code quality through Unit and Integration tests.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior team members.
- Take ownership of key backend components and deliver robust solutions.
- Align with architects to ensure compliance with software policies and patterns.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in banking technology, digital assets, and blockchain.
A bit about you
- 6+ years of backend development experience, including:
- Java 8+, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs
- Kubernetes for container orchestration
- Liquibase, Spring JPA, Spring Security
- Cloud computing experience (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Experience with PL/SQL and workflow automation tools (Flowable).
- Basic banking and digital asset domain knowledge.
- Exposure to DevOps and release management.
- Experience in technical leadership, mentoring, and problem-solving.
Bonus qualifications
- Demonstrated passion for banking, digital assets and blockchain or previous experience in this field.
- Familiarity with full-stack development (JavaScript & Angular)
