Avaloq expands partnership with digitalswitzerland with lifelong learning pledge

Global fintech leader Avaloq has furthered its partnership with the national initiative digitalswitzerland by signing up to the organisation’s lifelong learning pledge. The move means Avaloq will take an even more active and committed role in shaping digital innovation in Switzerland.

Building upon its existing, three-year partnership with digitalswitzerland, Avaloq will work even more closely with the organisation to address the need for further education among all stakeholders in the Swiss economy regarding the importance of digitisation and the need for businesses to embrace the benefits that digital solutions and business models can bring.

Zurich-based digitalswitzerland is a Swiss-wide, multi-stakeholder initiative created from the shared vision of its over 150 members, including Avaloq, to strengthen Switzerland’s position as a leading innovation hub. By engaging government, business, academia and the public, the organisation aims to create a platform to lead Switzerland forward and make the country a world leader in digital businesses and infrastructure.

As a signatory to the lifelong learning pledge, Avaloq will work towards a number of stated goals, including giving every member of the Swiss workforce the possibility to enhance their existing skills with digital skills, by re-and up-skilling, or learning entirely new skills, to stay competitive in the increasingly digitalized labour market. In addition, the firm has committed to make re- and up-skilling programmes available to all of its own employees, regardless of their educational background, age, seniority or career perspectives, to ensure their digital readiness and career progression.

Christina Hübschen, Chief Human Resources Officer of Avaloq, said: “As a recognised leader within the global fintech space, Avaloq understands the importance of education. We are very proud to enter the next stage of our partnership with digitalswitzerland, an organisation dedicated to facilitating the further digital education of Switzerland. We look forward to working closely with other leading companies and institutions investing in the digital education of the workforce.”

Nicolas Bürer, Managing Director at digitalswitzerland, said: “Recent studies show that by 2022, more than half of the Swiss workforce will require substantial re- and up-skilling. In the next decades, the Swiss economy will thus face significant challenges to cope with the unprecedented scale of learning needs, at all skill levels, required by the ongoing digitalization and automation of the Swiss economy. Avaloq has been a great partner since 2016 and we are delighted that the firm has now become a lifelong learning pledge partner. With its position as a leading innovator within the global fintech space, Avaloq is very well positioned to help us move forward with our promise to address the educational needs in digitalisation and automation.”
