A bit about the role
Your team
The Avaloq Academy is a global team with local teams in Edinburgh, Manila, Pune and Zurich. We develop and deliver technical training to implementation professionals working on the Avaloq Banking System. This includes a core platform, in addition to web, mobile and containerized products. Most courses sit within our certification and accreditation framework and cover customization via Avaloq’s many proprietary customization interfaces as well as external technologies.
Your key tasks
As an instructor who loves to learn challenging new things, you need to break them down into manageable parts and teach them to others using a combination of videos and live training in the Academy training environment. The end goal is a community of qualified Avaloq implementation professionals who can hit the ground running when they join implementation projects.
As an Avaloq trainer, you will:
- Deliver training online and, occasionally, in a physical classroom
- Train both local and foreign employees, consultants, software engineers, and partners within the Avaloq Community
- Learn how to use and customize (code) the Avaloq Banking System (ABS) - Avaloq’s proprietary Core banking software
- Proactively use resources and liaise with colleagues and subject matter experts to ramp-up in new technical areas
- Create training materials including video scripts and PowerPoints, exercises and teaching manuals
- Work with the Academy multi-media design team to turn your training ideas into video content
- Work closely with technical writers to help continuously improve the documentation your course materials rely on
- Collaborate with and support your trainer colleagues and subject matter experts across all locations
A bit about you
- A Degree in Computer Science or any relevant degree (or equivalent experience)
- Experience of instructional design, teaching or a role with a strong focus on didactics and knowledge transfer
- Experience of content development with excellent written and spoken English, experience with online / virtual course design would be a bonus
- Winning personality with strong communication and presentation skills
- Excellent aptitude for new concepts and an analytical mind with a structured and autonomous approach to working on complex technical problems.
- Be required to deliver online training in different time zones to meet course demand
It would be a real bonus if you have
- A background in software development, system customization or DevOps, though other (technically complex) experience
- Experience teaching or training and interaction with foreign professionals
- Understanding of financial services and processes and a general affinity to the financial sector
