Build and Testing Specialist
A bit about the role
Join our team as a Build and Testing Specialist where you'll take on a pivotal role managing our test and build framework. You will focus on internal quality control, and perform preventive maintenance to ensure everything runs smoothly. You'll be packaging our Java-based products, working closely with our development team on manual testing. You will also coach team members to enhance their testing skills. This position is perfect for someone thrive in a dynamic setting while making substantial contributions to the quality and reliability of our software.
Key tasks
- Ensure build processes are closely monitored for consistent quality and swiftly address any flaws discovered in build scripts to maintain internal quality control.
- Compile Java-based applications for release and maintain package repositories alongside version control systems to ensure proficient software rollouts.
- Design and implement enhancements to our build and test systems, ensuring they perform optimally. Regularly monitor these systems to pinpoint potential improvements.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to maintain the integrity and efficiency of our build infrastructure.
- Increase test coverage of our products in close collaboration with developers, execute manual testing, and coach others to perform manual tests.
A bit about you
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Advanced comprehension of Java build tools such as Maven or Gradle
- Proficiency in using and maintaining version control systems, specifically GitHub
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools like Jenkins or Bamboo
- Knowledge of Bitbucket administration
- Knowledge of bash and other shell scripting languages
- Comprehension of modern development techniques like TDD or BDD
- Comprehension of JUnit and mockito
- Proven track record of skillfully managing build and test frameworks
- Successful implementation of enhancements to build and test systems
- Experience in leading and coaching teams on testing best practices
