German speaking Senior Business Analyst (German Taxes)
A bit about the role
We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst (German Tax) to join our team in Zurich, taking a leading role in the design and delivery of German tax solutions on the Avaloq core banking platform.
In this role, you will drive requirement engineering and functional solution design for complex tax topics, with a strong focus on Avaloq Tax Engine concepts, reporting, and German tax regulations. You will work closely with developers, QA, and other analysts, and actively coach junior colleagues.
Your key tasks
- Lead requirement engineering and functional analysis for German tax topics in Avaloq
- Translate regulatory requirements into clear specifications and scalable solutions
- Act as Avaloq expert for Tax Engine business concepts, reporting, and tax-relevant data flows
- Cover German tax domains such as capital gains, loss pots, onshore/offshore reporting, MiKaDiv, KESt Anmeldung, NEK, etc.
- Define business architecture and target-state solution designs for new implementations
- Support testing and validation of implemented tax solutions
- Coach and mentor junior Business Analysts
- Contribute to consulting, implementation, and pre-sales activities
A bit about you
- University degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Finance, Business Informatics, IT, Law, or a comparable field
- Several years of experience as a Business Analyst / Functional Consultant in banking or financial services
- Strong hands-on Avaloq experience is mandatory, especially in the tax area (Avaloq Tax Engine, reporting concepts, tax-relevant data structures and flows)
- Deep understanding of German taxation in banking, including capital gains taxation and reporting obligations
- Ability to create clear functional specifications and drive solution design independently
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to understand complex end-to-end processes
- Technical confidence to work with data, analyze results, and validate implementations (SQL skills strongly preferred)
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Fluent German (spoken and written) is mandatory
It would be a real bonus if you have
- Experience with international tax regimes and regulatory frameworks such as FATCA, CRS, QI
- Strong knowledge of securities and investment products (equities, bonds, funds, derivatives) and their tax implications
- Experience defining target business architectures and solution roadmaps for complex banking platforms
- Avaloq certification (ACP) or proven track record delivering Avaloq tax solutions in production
