Cloud FinOps Analyst
A bit about the role
Your Team
You will be part of the Global Cloud FinOps team, supporting the financial management and optimization of cloud services across the organization. As a Cloud FinOps Analyst, you will play a key role in driving cloud cost transparency, improving resource efficiency, and enabling data-driven decision-making. This position requires a strong interest in cloud technologies, financial analysis, and stakeholder collaboration.
Your key tasks
- Monitor cloud consumption, costs, and resource utilization across cloud environments. Analyze usage and spend patterns to identify optimization opportunities and cost-saving initiatives.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge of one or more major cloud platforms, with a solid understanding of cloud concepts such as compute, storage, networking, elasticity, tagging strategies, billing structures, pricing models, commitment-based discounts, and cloud cost management tools.
- Apply FinOps principles, including cost allocation, showback/chargeback, budgeting, forecasting, amortization, and unit cost analysis.
- Assist in the development, maintenance, and tracking of cloud budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Build and maintain reports, dashboards, KPIs, and analytical models to provide visibility into cloud spending and support financial planning.
- Partner with engineering, product, operations, and finance teams to improve cost accountability and promote efficient cloud consumption practices.
- Support cloud governance initiatives by helping define and monitor tagging compliance, cost allocation structures, and financial controls.
- Communicate cost drivers, trends, risks, and optimization recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to the evaluation and tracking of cloud savings initiatives, including rightsizing, resource optimization, and commitment-based savings programs.
- Stay current with cloud platform enhancements, pricing updates, FinOps best practices, and emerging industry trends.
A bit about you
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in Cloud FinOps, Cloud Cost Management, Technology Finance, or a related analytical role.
- Working knowledge of cloud computing concepts and at least one major cloud platform (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure preferred).
- Understanding of cloud financial management concepts, including budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation, and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and present actionable insights.
It would be a real bonus if you have:
- Certification from a major cloud vendor or from the FinOps Foundation.
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
