Software Engineer
A bit about the role
We are looking for a highly motivated Software Engineer to join our Output & Security team in the Platform Solution APAC & UK domain for our MNL office, with a specialized focus on data extraction using ACP (Avaloq Core Platform) and the generation of client-facing documents, such as advice and layout statements. This role is critical in ensuring that complex financial or operational data is accurately extracted, transformed, and presented in a clear, compliant, and client-friendly format.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, and packages to support data archiving, output management, and system integration requirements.
- Implement and maintain data archiving strategies to ensure long-term data accessibility, storage optimization, and compliance with retention requirements.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes for data migration, transformation, and integration across internal and external systems.
- Design, implement, and maintain data extraction pipelines using ACP to retrieve structured and unstructured data from internal systems.
- Develop and maintain automated processes for generating advice, reports, and layout statements for client communication management.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, client service teams, and cross-functional technical teams to define output requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Ensure accurate, consistent, and timely delivery of client communications, including formatting, branding, localization, and data integrity.
- Optimize database and output generation performance through efficient query writing, indexing, scalability improvements, and maintainable design.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve database, ETL, ACP extraction, and output-related issues in a timely manner.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development standards, best practices, and technical documentation.
- Document technical specifications, workflows, processes, and best practices related to PL/SQL development, data archiving, ETL, ACP extraction, and output generation.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in database management, data integration, and client communication management
A bit about you
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, database development, or data integration, with a strong focus on data extraction, document generation, and output management.
- Strong proficiency in PL/SQL development, including the design and development of stored procedures, functions, packages, and complex SQL queries.
- Extensive knowledge of Oracle Database technologies, database design, data modeling, performance tuning, and optimization techniques.
- Experience in database archiving, data retention strategies, output management, and system integration.
- Experience developing and maintaining ETL processes for data migration, transformation, and integration.
- Strong programming skills in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, or C#.
- Experience working with document generation and templating technologies, including PDF, HTML, XML, and related output formatting frameworks.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git or Bitbucket.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across business and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with ACP (Avaloq Core Platform) or similar data extraction and reporting frameworks.
- Experience with Client Communication Management (CCM) solutions such as Quadient Inspire, Assentis CCM, CSF, or equivalent platforms.
- Knowledge of financial services, banking operations, client reporting, or regulatory reporting standards.
- Familiarity with OpenShift, cloud-native platforms, and containerized application environments.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts, data governance, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Exposure to Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of Avaloq banking products, output management solutions, and client communication processes would be highly advantageous.
