Senior Cloud Operations Specialist

A bit about the role

The Senior Cloud Operations Specialist role in the Cloud and Infrastructure Division is responsible for the overall delivery of all application services in the Avaloq Financial Cloud by providing leadership and coaching support to a team of Cloud Operations Specialist. Additionally, this role is expected to cover a 24/7 shift pattern as well as support customers in different countries and in multiple cloud environments.

Your key tasks:

  • Provide leadership, guidance and coaching to a growing team of Cloud Operations Specialist
  • Provide support to reliable and efficient cloud operations through monitoring and ensuring service availability, optimizing service performance and overall maintaining service health for Avaloq SaaS customer
  • Improve quality and reliability of Avaloq SaaS service through automation, orchestration and integration of cloud infrastructure and operations
  • Balance automation speed and reliability with well-defined Service Level objectives
  • Partner with software and infrastructure development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures of multiple large distributed software applications
  • Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning to create sustainable systems and services through automation

A bit about you

  • College degree in computer science, engineering or other related field that provides similar skills
  • Vendor specific certifications from AWS/Azure/Google/OCI
  • Experienced in leading a team, managing and distributing workload
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in a public cloud services environment using Azure/AWS/GCP/OCI
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in DevOps and Cloud automation
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Git, Jenkins, JSON)
  • Experience with Cloud Observability tools (e.g. CloudWatch, Prometheus / Grafana, Kibana, OpenSearch, PagerDuty)
